The inner cone of the volcano collapses on itself, according to the Canary Islands Volcano Institute (Involcan) on social media.
It was gathered that an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 was recorded today, Tuesday, October 26, in the municipality of Mazo and 34 kilometers deep,
The earthquake occurred at 5:25 p.m, the National Geographic Institute (IGN) reported.
The earthquake has been felt in La Palma, Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro. It is the second largest magnitude since the beginning of the eruption since last Sunday a 4.9 was recorded.
The losses recorded from the volcanic eruption on La Palma in the banana sector are around 100 million euros.
This was confirmed this Tuesday by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende.
